BED AND BREAKFAST PALU

Anna and William George’s B & B Palù offers just a small number of rooms in a family house that is a part of this very old villa a mile and a half from Lake Garda. The rooms are generally large and can each sleep up to four. All the rooms have their own exclusive use bathrooms which may or may not be en suite. Each room is completely different.

Guests are welcomed to a family household with most of the ground floor being a common area including a reception hall/room, dining room, kitchen, while outside there is an ornamental garden in which guests can sit and relax.

Guests have access to broadband internet connection and can make free Skype phone calls to any destination. For those with notebooks the house has Wi-Fi. All rooms have television with the Italian channels and one English cable channel showing what is on the main receiver (with a tendency to "default" to kid's channels).

The price includes an abundant breakfast, and you can have wine or beer on us from the fridge or kitchen, as well as coffee and tea. “Towels are provided for each room and are always changed every day. The rooms are cleaned daily and the beds are made. There is a fridge available for the use of guests and a freezer for picnic ice pack etc.”. There are no extra charges. Maps of the lake area are provided and naturally we do our best to provide good advice on things to do, where to eat and so on. A couple of restaurants very near by offer very good and relatively inexpensive meals.

English and Italian are obviously spoken (as William is a Brit and Anna Italian) and common other languages are usually understood.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please study and print out our directions and maps as SATNAV is very unreliable close to the house itself where software gets confused by private roads and farm tracks.

The mountains of Monte Baldo and of the Lessinia range are just a short drive away for cool walks in the fresh air on hot summer’s days. The beautiful cities of Verona and Mantua are within half an hour and Vicenza, Padua, Venice and Milan all at most an hour or so away. The very pretty lakeside towns include our own Lazise and many others such as Sirmione, Bardolino and Torri del Benaco, all with medieval centres on the lakeside.”

From Milan or Venice: When you exit the motorway (A4) at Peschiera on the south east side of Lake Garda, follow the signs to "Garda" or “Gardaland”- going north up the lakeside road you go past Gardaland (theme park) on your left and then through the village of Pacengo. Continuing straight on for a kilometre or so and you then pass Caneva theme parks on your left. As you approach Lazise (going north) the first building on the right is the very visible Hotel Casa Mia - turn right there (direction Colà) and continue along that road for about a kilometre and you will then start going down into the valley we live in. At the lowest point of the valley you will see our sign and you turn left into the small road called "località palù dei mori". Take this straight dirt road that finishes in our courtyard (and enter the courtyard through the arch and we are opposite you).

If you are coming down the Motorway/Autostrada from Austria – Brenner, proceed as follows:

Exit the A 22 at Affi, also known as Lago di Garda Sud (Lake Garda South) – make you way through the two roundabouts to the dual carriageway (‘superstrada’) that goes to Peschiera and keep on that until you get to the exit after Lazise which is Colà-Sandrà. Exiting there you turn right towards Colà and will soon pass the Spa entrance on your right – keep on skirting the Spa’s park (don’t bear left towards Pacengo) and keep going straight on up the narrow road between high walls. When you get to the end turn right (signed towards Lazise) and go down the narrow, high-walled road and just follow it in the direction of Lazise for about a kilometre. As you come into our valley – at the lowest point in the valley where you see our B&B sign – take our road called Loc. Palù dei Mori. Follow that straight dirt road to the end and enter the courtyard through the arch – you’ll see our front door in the middle facing you.
